Mark Alan Stamaty's latest project now hitting the bookstores. A bit about this award-winning political columnist now featured at 92067 Free Press:

"In 1981 Meg Greenfield, editorial page editor of the Washington Post, asked Mark Alan Stamaty to create a comic strip about Washington for her op-ed page. Mark traveled to D.C. to do extensive research, and in November of that year the Post and the Village Voice jointly debuted his new creation, Washingtoon, featuring, among many other characters, Congressman Bob Forehead, chairman of the JFK-Look-Alike Caucus. The comic strip’s popularity with Postand Voice readers led to its being picked up by more than 40 newspapers, including theBoston Globe, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Austin-American Statesman.

From 1994 to 1996, Mark was the political cartoonist for TimeMagazine. From 2001 to 2003, he produced the highly praised monthly comic strip Boox for the New York Times Book Review. His cartoon reporting has covered a variety of events for GQMagazine and The New Yorker, including men's fashion shows in Milan, the 2001 Baseball All-Star Game, the Washington Redskins' training camp, the Madison Square Garden 1992 25th-Anniversary Concert honoring Bob Dylan, the buzz around Washington during President Clinton's grand jury testimony, a UFO convention, and many more..." California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown filed the suit on Magre's scheme advising small companies to avoid buying costly workers' compensation insurance by turning employees into stock-owning corporate officers.

GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER:
Hello, good afternoon. First of all, thank you very much to Speaker Bass and to Gerry Parsky and Senator Steinberg for being here today. We just wanted to make an announcement about our commission. Just over a month ago I announced the creation of a Commission on the 21st Century Economy. As a matter of fact, we did it together with my partner, Speaker Bass. Today I'm happy to announce with the legislature our appointments to this important bipartisan group, which consists of 12 members.

A Novel Approach to News
Google News is a computer-generated news site that aggregates headlines from more than 4,500 English-language news sources worldwide, groups similar stories together and displays them according to each reader's personalized interests.

Traditionally, news readers first pick a publication and then look for headlines that interest them. We do things a little differently, with the goal of offering our readers more personalized options and a wider variety of perspectives from which to choose. On Google News we offer links to several articles on every story, so you can first decide what subject interests you and then select which publishers’ accounts of each story you’d like to read. Click on the headline that interests you and you'll go directly to the site which published that story.

Our articles are selected and ranked by computers that evaluate, among other things, how often and on what sites a story appears online. We also rank based on certain characteristics of news content such as freshness, location, relevance and diversity. As a result, stories are sorted without regard to political viewpoint or ideology and you can choose from a wide variety of perspectives on any given story. We'll continue to improve Google News by adding sources, fine-tuning our technology and providing Google News to readers in even more regions.

Find what you want on www.92067FREEPRESS.COM AND MAYBE WHAT YOU NEED.
